Lindsay scores four, repeats as NWPL Player of Week

BREMERTON, WA— The Northwest Premier League (NWPL) announces that Spokane Shadow’s Megan Lindsay is the NWPL Player of the Week for June 12, 2016. Lindsay becomes the first player to repeat with the honor since the league kicked off its initial season in May

Megan Lindsay now has 14 goals in the first-ever season of the Northwest Premier League. She has more goals on her own than five entire NWPL clubs do. On Saturday June 11 at Spokane Falls CC Stadium Lindsay scored four goals as her Shadow routed Seattle Stars 9-1.

Shadow Head Coach Kevin Moon knows he’s got the cream of the crop to send out on the pitch every match. “Megan’s consistency in front of goal in the first half of the season has been quite amazing,” Moon says.

“She is very a versatile player and is hard to stop because she can score in different ways.”

NWPL Primary CrestLindsay showed that versatility on Saturday. “She scored two goals off crosses, converted a penalty and then scored one from outside the 18 after after beating a defender,” Moon describes.

Lindsay, a Spokane native who went to Seattle Pacific University, has had an extensive pro career with multiple clubs overseas, most-recently in Norway.

Megan was also the first-ever NWPL Player of the Week back on May 1st. She scored a hat trick in that match and added an assist against Yakima.
