Twin City Union are on the rise and one of the players helping them do it is Ellie Quercia from Aberdeen, WA.
Ellie scored two goals in TCU’s recent 2-0 win over the Olympic Force. She was also one of the players delayed by the recent traffic snarl on I-90 when the Union traveled to Yakima. She arrived and immediately went into the match to help her side deliver a 1-1 draw against the Hoppers.
Ellie’s recent play has garnered here the Northwest Premier League (NWPL) Player of the Week honors for July 1-10, 2016. She’ll get an inaugural season NWPL league scarf as a symbol of her accomplishment.
“Ellie has been a great asset to the TCUFC this opening season,” says Head Coach Sophie Clough.
“She produces goals when needed and assists with them when she can’t get there herself. It was great to have her make it to the game Sunday at Yakima; she jumped on no questions asked and just worked. She’s very coachable, always does what the team needs and gives it her all.”
Quercia played for the Clark College Penguins in the NWAC. She scored 14 goals (4th best in the league) in 2015.
The Hoquiam High graduate was also a standout at that level. Ellie was awarded Evergreen 1st Team All-League Forward all four years at Hoquiam, and ended her senior year with a personal and school high of 27 goals in one season giving her 74 career goals ultimately earning All-League MVP in the process.
