The Northwest Premier League played its second-to-last weekend of the inaugural season July 23-24 with three matches on the docket. Fuerza FC and Twin City Union notched wins. Seattle and Yakima each got a point in a draw.
Fuerza FC 3-1 Seattle Stars
Fuerza jumped out to a 2-0 lead after half an hour and eventually powered past the Seattle Stars. McKenzie Buell scored twice (25th and 43rd minutes) and assisted on the third Fuerza goal by Gia Tift in the 31st minute. Seattle answered back on a goal from Norma Nomeli in the 35th minute in a match in which all the goals came in the first half.
Olympic Force 1-2 Twin City Union
Twin City used a late, late strike to come home with all three points against the Force. Emma Janzter scored in the 33rd minute on an assist from Megan Ward to stake the Union to a 1-0 lead Bremerton. In the 61st minute the clubs were level on a strike from Lizzy Oba. The match seemed headed for a draw until a deep free kick was awarded in stoppage time. Megan Ward stepped up to take it and curled a low liner just inside the post mere seconds before the final whistle was blow.
Seattle Stars 0-0 Yakima United
The Stars hosted Yakima in a match that ended nil-nil at French Field in Kent. Jada Stevenson (YUFC) and Gina Cardenas (Stars) did the work in goal for their clubs.
