BREMERTON, WA— The Northwest Premie League (NWPL) announces that Arlington High School senior and Fuerza FC center forward McKenzie Buell is the league’s Player of the Week for July 24, 2016.
Fuerza FC were looking for a home win at Quil Ceda Stadium and high school age player McKenzie Buell was there to help them achieve it. McKenzie scored two goals and assisted on a third as Fuerza topped the Seattle Stars 3-1.
“McKenzier scored two goals in the 1st half, one on a nice through ball by Tia Carrillo that she one-touched with finesse far post past the keeper,” says Fuerza coach Tony Carillo. “The second goal was pure effort and skill as she beat two defenders creating a one-v-one in the box and she hammered the ball near post. She also assisted on a corner with a header to Gia Tift.”
“McKenzie Buell has a work ethic that is hard to duplicate,” Carillo says. “She has had a great season leading the team in scoring and minutes played. She’ll be entering her senior year in high school, so she has a bright future ahead of her. She plans on either playing college or professional after high school.”
