The Northwest Premier League (NWPL) was founded in January of 2016 and returns on Sunday with three matches, two new teams and a new format as the statewide adult women’s soccer league looks to build on it’s hashtag slogan #FastForward.
The Northwest Premier League has adjusted its format in light of two new clubs coming into the circuit in 2017 as well as in response to a lack of parity in the 2016 table which was dominated by the Spokane Shadow and South Sound Shock.
The new clubs are North Central Washington Alliance (Wenatchee) and Washington Timbers (Vancouver, WA.)
The adjusted 9-club unbalanced schedule features matches against clubs with similar 2016 records as well as a shortened regular season and playoffs which will run for a few weekends in July.
