2017 NWPL Golden Boot: Lauryn Peters, Yakima United

BREMERTON, WA —- The Northwest Premier League (NWPL) today announces that Yakima United forward Lauryn Peters is the Golden Boot winner for the 2017 season. Peters led the league with 9 goals as Yakima United secured their first-ever playoff spot.

Lauryn Peters led the NWPL in scoring in 2017. Her 9 goals were followed closely by 7 each for Milla Benedetti of the Washington Timbers and Karin Heisen of Fuerza FC.

Four of Peters’ goals came in a single match. On Saturday May 13 at Sozo in Yakima Lauryn scored four and assisted on another during a Hoppers 7-1 rout.

Peters played her high school soccer at West Valley in Yakima. She’s now a member of the Western Illinois University squad.

Lauryn was all-league in the CBBN in 2016 as a defender.

“Lauryn’s just a very special, exciting young player to watch, and we’re thrilled to have had her in our team this year,” says Hoppers Head Coach Josh Vega.
