Chris Wells of Seattle Stars voted 2017 NWPL Coach of Year

BREMERTON, WA— The Northwest Premier League (NWPL) today announces that Seattle Stars Head Coach Chris Wells has been named 2017 NWPL Coach of the Year by vote of the member teams in the league.

Chris Wells was named Head Coach of the NWPL Seattle Stars in February 2017. He took over and remade the Stars, bringing in talent from new schools and new places.

The Stars won the regular season title in the league by finishing top of the table with a 9-1-0 record. Under wells the organized Seattle defense surrendered just 7 goals, best in the league. Wells guided Seattle to the 2017 NWPL Final. The previous season the Stars had won just two matches (2-4-6.)

cropped-nwpl-primary-crest1Chris is on the coaching staff with Seattle Reign FC (NWSL), is an assistant coach at Highline College and is the Head Coach of the Kent-Meridian High School Girls.

It was a very close vote for the honor. Also receiving strong support in the voting was Washington Timbers Head Coach Kat Tarr, who guided her first-year club to the NWPL Championship.
