Lauryn Peters of Yakima United voted 2017 NWPL Player of Year

BREMERTON, WA— The Northwest Premier League (NWPL) today announces that Lauryn Peters of Yakima United FC has been named 2017 NWPL Player of the Year by a vote of league member clubs.

PETERS-2Peters led the NWPL in goals scored in 2017 with 9, winning the Golden Boot.

She takes the honor in the first season such an award has been given out by the league.

Also receiving Player of the Year votes from  member clubs were Havana Johnson (Spokane Shadow), Ana Delgadillo (Washington Timbers) and Claire Nelson (Seattle Stars.)

Peters is a Yakima native who played for West Valley High School and currently attends Western Illinois University.

Lauryn showed her versatility as a player in 2017, leading the Hoppers in goals after she had been named honorable mention All-State in 4A as a defender her senior year in high school.
