It was sunny all across Washington on Saturday May 12 making for some great weather to play NWPL soccer. Yakima United, Seattle Stars and Capital FC enjoyed their days most with wins over Twin City Union, Olympic Force and Blackhills FC.
Yakima United 2-1 Twin City Union
YAKIMA, WA— The Hoppers (1-1-0) got a late goal to notch their first win of the season over the visiting Twin City Union (0-1-1.) TCU went up 1-0 in the 15th minute when Selesha Harrah scored off of an assist from Alayna Miller. The Hoppers got even before the break when last year’s NWPL Offensive Player of the Year Lauryn Peters scored. The match was winding down towards a tie when the Hoppers got their winner in the 89th minute on a goal from Brittany Little.

Olympic Force 0-3 Seattle Stars
BREMERTON, WA— The Seattle Stars (1-0-0) got two first half goals and a penalty kick conversion in the second half to hold off the Olympic Force (0-1-1) 3-0 on Saturday May 12 at Gordon Field. Seattle went up 1-0 in the 26th minute on a goal from Angelique Hage. It was 2-0 in the 39th when Savannah Bogan scored. The PK was converted by Jenna Holtz in the 80th minute.

Blackhills FC 0-4 Capital FC
OLYMPIA, WA— Capital FC (2-0-0) scored a big away win Saturday night in Olympia versus Backhills FC (-0-1-1.) The CFC were led by the hat trick from Laadi Issaka and a goal from Rye Sia. Sia also assisted on one of Issaka’s goals.
