Timbers top Capital; Union conquer Alliance

Northwest Premier League action on June 2 saw the Washington Timbers and Twin City Union score three goals each in their wins.

SALEM, OR—The defending NWPL Champs Washington Timbers (3-1-0) came all the way back from a 2-0 deficit to earn a big 3-2 win on Saturday June 2 over Capital FC (3-1-0) at the Capital FC Fields Complex.

Capital took a 2-0 lead with goals from Annouscka Kordom (19′) and Rita Okoro (28′.) WTFC began their comeback just before the half on a goal from Sarah Teubner (42′.) The visitors completed the rally with goals from Keegan Storlie (48′) and the winner, a second from Teubner in the 59th.

The Union get ready for action.

Twin City Union 3-1 NCW Alliance

CENTRALIA, WA— The Union (1-2-1) earned their first win of the season over NCW Alliance (0-3-0) on Saturday at Tiger Stadium. All the goals came in the second half.

The Union took a 1-0 lead in the 59th minute when Sidney Rees connection on an assist from LeAnn Phanakhone. It was 2-0 for the home side in the 62nd as Lanie Vinson scored on an assist from Camryn Althauser. The Union expanded their advantage to 3-0 in the 86th minute when Megan Moore scored on a second assist from Phanakhone. The visitors from Wenatchee did pull one back in the 89th minute when Itzel Castro scored an unassisted goal.
