BREMERTON, WA—The Northwest Premier League today announces that the head coaches and general managers of the nine member clubs have voted on the #OurTime NWPL Players of the Week for June 3, 2018. The honorees are Sarah Teubner of Washington Timbers (Offense) and Emily Sorenson of Twin City Union (Defense.)
Sarah Teubner scored two goals on Saturday in Salem as defending NWPL Champions Washington Timbers rallied from a 2-0 deficit to claim a 3-2 win and give Capital FC their first loss of the season. That’s only part of the story. Teubner was banged up but came back in to the match, was put in a new position, and battled to score the winning goal – all in her hometown.
Emily Sorenson finished second in the Player of the Week voting for defense a few weeks back when she wowed in a 0-0 draw against Blackhills FC. This time around the goalkeeper got the votes needed to take the honors as her Twin City Union team grabbed their first win of the season.
