NWPL Scoreboard: Force, Blackhills break through for wins

The June 9-10 Northwest Premier League weekend was highlighted by two sides getting their first wins of the season.


NCW Alliance 0-2 Blackhills FC

WENATCHEE, WA—Blackhills FC (1-2-1) scored their first NWPL goals in their debut season and it led them to a 2-0 win over NCW Alliance (0-5-0) on Sunday at the Apple Bowl. Blackhills got their first-ever league goal in the 54th minute from Brook Swensen. They added an insurance goal from Jenna Killman in the 76th. The shut out went to Carly Becker.

Jess Sanchez scored the winner for the Olympic Force.

Olympic Force 1-0 Twin City Union

BREMERTON, WA—Jess Sanchez converted a penalty kick at the very end of the match as the Olympic Force (1-2-1) broke through for their first win of the season at the expense of the Twin City Union (1-3-1).

Seattle Stars 5-1 Washington Premier FC

TUKWILA, WA—The Seattle Stars (4-0-0) got a hat trick and assist performance from Ariela Lewis as they handled Washington Premier FC (2-2-1) 5-1 on Sunday.

Seattle Stars FC goals: Ariela Lewis 3′ (Breanna Straus), Breanna Straus 15′ (Ariela Lewis), Angelique Hage 29′ (Asia Brisco), Ariela Lewis 50′ (Malia Allison), Ariela Lewis 82′ (Anna Parker).

WPFC goals: Mackenzie Rivera 61′ (Haleigh Thompson)


Washington Timbers 1-0 NCW Alliance (Forfeit)

VANCOUVER, WA— NCW Alliance (0-5-0) were unable to field enough players to travel to Vancouver on Saturday June 9 and the cancelled match has resulted in the NWPL awarding a 1-0 forfeit win to the Washington Timbers (4-1-0).
