WPFC, Capital FC advance to NWPL Semis with wins

The home sides held on Sunday July 8 as Washington Premier FC and Capital FC advanced to the Northwest Premier League (NWPL) Semifinals with Quarterfinal wins.

Washington Premier 3-1 Blackhills FC

PUYALLUP, WA— Washington Premier broke up a 1-1 battle in the 60th minute and then added a late insurance marker to defeat first-year club Blackhills FC (Olympia) in the NWPL Quarterfinals.

WPFC took a quick lead on a Lexsi Manning goal in the 6th minute. Blackhills stayed calm and got even at 1-1 in the 31st minute on a strike from Leah Magee. The home side got their winner in the 60th when Haleigh Thompson scored. Angela Celedon made the outcome certain with a goal for WPFC in the 87th minute.

Blackhills Goals: Leah Magee 31′ (Unassisted)

It’s been a very good first season in the NWPL for Capital FC.

Capital FC 4-1 Yakima United

SALEM, OR—Capital FC kept their first season in the NWPL going strong as they topped Yakima United in the NWPL Quarterfinals on Sunday July 8.

CFC scored 2 goals in each half while the Hoppers could only answer with an added time first half goal from Lauryn Peters.

Capital FC Goals: Laadi Issaka 8′ (Kyra Mull), Rita Okoro 30′ (Whitney Pitalo), Whitney Pitalo 56′ (Unassisted), Vicky Cruz 58′ (Unassisted)

Yakima United Goals: Lauryn Peters 45′ (Kamryn Fiscus)
