Week 2 Recap: Blackhills and Vancouver Take The Spoils

A freewheeling first half featured goals by Jocelyn Charette and Mel Alvarado that gave Blackhills a 2-0 lead before AC Chehalem Valley answered back with strikes by Maria Frias and Lauren Robideau tied the game, 2-2, in the 43rd. But Blackhills answered right back with a goal a minute later and would add two more in the second half to take the win, 5-2. Caroline Penner scored what proved to be the game winner in the 44th and added another in the 60th and Claire Fleckstein added the insurance goal in the 70th.

Vancouver Victory 3, Yakima United 2

The Vancouver Victory moved to 2-0-0 in the Northwest Premier League after goals by Maya Davis, Paige German and a penalty kick by Lulu Sadler led to a 3-1 win at Harmony Sports in Vancouver. Lauryn Peters scored the lone goal for Yakima.
