Week 6 Recap: Artesians Claim Spot In the Championship Game

The Oly Town Artesians captured a spot in the NWPL championship game with a 3-0 win over the Vancouver Victory on Saturday afternoon. After a scoreless first 45 minutes, Brooke Streeter scored the opening goal in the 47th minute and then added another with a penalty kick in the 50th minute. Nicole Fesenbek put the game well out of reach 15 minutes later and the Artesians never looked back. Olivia Brock and Mykel Jones combined for the clean sheet in goal and Oly Town wrapped up the regular season at 4-2-0 and in second place. They will travel to Salem to face the #1 seed, Capital FC Atletica, in the championship game.

Capital FC Atletica 1, Oly-Pen Force 0

Capital FC Atletica finished off an undefeated regular season with a 1-0 win over the Oly-Pen Force on Saturday afternoon in Gig Harbor. CFC finished the regular season at 6-0-0, allowing just two goals all season and have not allowed any goals since their 3-2 win over the Oly Town Artesians in the season opener in Olympia. They will face those Artesians in the championship game on their home turf next weekend.
