Week 5 Recap: Capital FC Clinches Regular Season Title, Artesians Move Into 2nd

Oly Town Artesians 5, Oly-Pen Force 0

Brooke Streeter scored twice and chipped in an assist and Olivia Brock kept a clean sheet in the Oly Town Artesians 5-0 win over the Oly-Pen Force in Olympia on Saturday. Brieanna Dell opened the scoring in the 23rd minute before Streeter scored her first in the 42nd minute. Nicole Fesenbek gave Oly Town a 3-0 lead early in the second half before the Artesians added two more in the late stages for good measure. The Artesians moved 3-2-0 on the season and are three points up on the Vancouver Victory with the two teams set to meet in week 6 to determine who will face Capital FC Atletica in the championship game. The Force fell to 0-5-0.

Capital FC Atletica 3, Vancouver Victory 0

Rin Choi scored once and Savanna Empey registered her second shutout of the season in Capital FC Atletica’s 3-0 win over the Vancouver Victory on Saturday in Salem. Aspen Deconcini kicked off the scoring in the 40th minute and Capital took a 1-0 lead into the half. But Hannah Clifford got the insurance goal early in the second half and Choi put it away just four minutes later and Capital FC remains unbeaten in NWPL play at 5-0-0 this season, clinching first place in the regular season and the right to host the championship game this season. Vancouver fell to 2-3-0 and will face the Artesians in Olympia in week six for the opportunity to play in the championship game.
